Oh for another player and servant to the club like John Wark. The photo was taken at the end of the 1991/92 season and Ipswich Town had finished Champions of Division Two and gained promotion to the Premiership. John Wark was playing as a centre half in that season and nearing the end of his terrific career. The season also saw two games against Liverpool in the FA Cup. The first game at home was drawn and the replay at Ainfield was an unforgettable night, especially when the game went into extra time. Liverpool proved too strong in the end but it was a great nights entertainment and well worth the journey.
Chris Kiwomya was top goal scorer that season with 16 League goals followed by Jason Dozzell on 11. The other regular members of the team were Craig Forrest, Paul Goddard, Gavin Johnson, David Linighan, Simon Milton, Steve Palmer, Mick Stockwell, Neil Thompson, Steve Whitton and Romeo Zondervan.
