StatueFull marks to the Marcus Evans Group for providing the Sir Bobby Robson tribute magazine with their compliments. It brought back happy memories of the exciting times under Sir Bobby in his thirteen year reign at Portman Road. One amazing statistic that I had forgotten about was that in his thirteen years in charge he only bought fourteen players at a total cost of £1,038,000. The largest fee paid was £220,000 for Frans Thijssen. Nearly all his players had been home produced. It is a fitting tribute to Sir Bobby that the North Stand will be renamed the Sir Bobby Robson Stand on the 26th September when Ipswich entertain Newcastle United.
